Situation
Llangrannog is a small coastal village, community and seaside resort in Ceredigion lying in the narrow valley of the River Hawen which falls as a waterfall near the middle of the village and is on the Ceredigion Coastal Path. It was originally established around the church during the 6th century and features a commemorative statue of its founder St Carannog, towering above the community on the coastal path. A second distinctive feature is a large rock between Llangrannog and Cilborth Beaches called Carreg Bica, a stack of Ordovician rock weathered by the sea. Llangrannog's beach has earned Blue Flag beach status.
The summer camp of the Urdd - a Welsh Youth Movement - is located a mile away where the first camp was held in 1932. Later The Urdd movement purchased the farm, together with 160 acres of land, constructing permanent buildings on the site to provide a quality leisure and educational facility which includes a dry ski slope, a go-kart track, a swimming pool and horse-riding facility with ongoing development.
Nearby the county town of Cardigan provides a full range of amenities and is 12 miles distant, with many beautiful beaches and villages dotted up and down the scenic coastline of Ceredigion.
